Authorities brought out a robot to check it. The device was blown up around 7:00 p.m.’…what weather do we have tomorrow??? … ;)

Paraplegics hunt gators in trip for hunters with disabilities. Two paralyzed hunters from Georgia have stalked game in Wyoming, Africa and Alaska. Now, they are taking their wheelchairs onto the St. Johns River in north Florida to hunt alligators. Stanfield's legs weren't the only thing shaking, said trapper Curtis Lucas, who helped organize the hunt about 30 miles west of Daytona Beach. "His wheelchair started to tilt and we were scared he was gonna become meals on wheels," Lucas said. Stanfield and Dennis Knox, who hoped to bag his own gator Friday, are both paralyzed from the waist down and hunt from wheelchairs. They belong to the Wheelin' Sportsmen and the Buckmasters American Deer Foundation in Alabama, two organizations that organize hunting events for people with disabilities…

Source: Al Gore's Son Had 140 Vicodin Pills. Al Gore's son was charged with felony drug-possession charges and lesser offenses related to his July 4 speeding stop, authorities said Friday. And a law enforcement source tells PEOPLE that Gore had 140 Vicodin pills and "dozens" of other prescription drugs… Gore, 24, was pulled over south of Los Angeles in a blue Toyota Prius around 2:15 a.m. July 4 for allegedly driving more than 100 mph. Police previously said officers, who had searched the car because they detected the smell of marijuana, found prescription drugs including Xanax, Valium, Soma, Vicodin and Adderall, as well as a small amount of marijuana. No prescriptions were present, police said…read that article and see the mug shot picture…Vicodin is in a group of drugs called narcotic pain relievers. It is similar to codeine…that dude is a kind of dealer or he should get an immedialtely abstinence treatment…

Woman keeps 9 people handcuffed in her home for years
Woman Charged With Keeping 9 Starving People In Home. Police in Port St. Lucie are trying to find out the identities of nine people found living with a 62-year-old woman in what officials described as deplorable conditions. Capt. Scott Bartal with the Port St. Lucie Police Department said Judith Leekin kept five mentally disabled adults and four teenagers captive in her Southwest Hawthorne Drive home. "There were claims by people in that house that they were locked in there, and they were bound with handcuff ties," Bartal said. Bartal told WPBF News 25 the captives were malnourished and handcuffed together when Leekin left the home. He said some of the teens, ages 15 to 17, had scars on their backs and burn marks on their bodies…

'Practice what you preach' is an old saw, but there are plenty of charismatic figures who are known to be mean and nasty in their home life," said Paul Ekman, an emeritus professor of psychology at the University of California Medical School in San Francisco. "These people make an exception for themselves. The very fact of their own misbehavior is the reason they preach to others," he said. "As with politicians, it's the same psychological phenomenon when preachers do the same thing… They have to appeal to the public, but it is not necessarily what they really believe," Kuriansky said….

Switching off the Iraq war is not an American option. These have been traumatic weeks for the White House, as its strategy of holding the fort on Iraq is turning into the political equivalent of the Little Big Horn. Amid national war fatigue, congressional Democrats are pushing hard to impose a legislative deadline for military withdrawals. An initial assessment report imposed on the administration by Congress and published on July 12 showed, at best, mixed success on a series of key benchmarks to judge improvement in Iraq. Even Republican lawmakers are revolting, and two prominent senators, Richard Lugar and John Warner, last week advocated a realignment of American combat troops by as early as next year, even if their proposal did not set a deadline. Last week also, The Washington Post did little to help the Bush administration's case when it published a story by Bob Woodward highlighting the CIA's doubts about amelioration in Iraq. According to Woodward, CIA Director Michael Hayden told the Iraq Study Group last November that "the inability of the [Iraqi] government to govern seems irreversible," before affirming that he couldn't "point to any milestone or checkpoint where we can turn this thing around." Later in the interview Hayden did qualify his pessimism somewhat by suggesting that a functional government in Iraq was not achievable "in the short term." Skeptics will respond that the same language was used in Vietnam. Victory was always around the corner; but never was. However, Iraq and Vietnam are very different places. The way to win an insurgency is, often, by lowering oneself into the minutiae of a place. It takes great patience, unity at home, and an obligation not to lose one's head. None of these are present today in the US. No one can deny that Iraq has turned into a fiasco, but you don't deal with a fiasco by just trying to switch it off…
