Floating Dutch homes
These Floating Dutch Homes Go with the Flow of Water Level. These homes are built for climate change. Floods? No problem, they just float above the current water level. Unlike the houseboats that line many Dutch canals or the floating villages of Asia, the several dozen homes are being built on solid ground. But they also are designed to float on flood water. Each house is made of lightweight wood, and the concrete base is hollow, giving it ship-like buoyancy. It’s a simple idea for living in the areas where the water level could rise soon ;)

Sectarian violence is spreading beyond Iraq
Pentagon: Sectarian violence is now spreading beyond Baghdad. The report described a rising tide of sectarian violence, fed in part by interference from neighbouring Iran and Syria and driven by a "vocal minority" of religious extremists who oppose the idea of a democratic Iraq. Death squads targeting mainly Iraqi civilians are a growing problem, heightening the risk of civil war, it said. Death squads and terrorists are locked in mutually reinforcing cycles of sectarian strife," the report said, adding that the Sunni-led insurgency "remains potent and viable" even as it is overshadowed by the sect-on-sect killing…in such a kind of society everyone can be an enemy, that’s a civil war ;(
