Paternity testing DNA can be wrong
Who's Your Daddy? When celebrity hairstylist Andre Chreky was hit with a paternity suit by a woman he had not been involved with for years, he was certain he couldn't lose. Paternity tests are DNA tests, he thought, and DNA tests never lie. So he unhesitatingly submitted a swab of cells. To his shock, he was positively identified as the father, with a 99.99 percent certainty. But last April, after a two-year legal battle that cost Chreky $800,000, the Fairfax, Virginia, circuit court found that human error in the testing was probable and that the DNA results were incorrect. "What particularly disturbs me," Judge David T. Stitt stated in the summary of the Chreky case, "is that most of the people coming through our system, particularly criminal defendants, do not have the resources to mount the kind of challenge to the DNA test results as was done in this case. . . . DNA test results are typically accepted at face value by the court in criminal and civil cases." …the judge is right the law system need some re-evaluation of DNA cases ;(

Iran still enriching uranium
Officials: Iran Still Enriching Uranium. Its ongoing enrichment could act as a trigger for action by the U.N. Security Council, which had set Thursday as the final day for Tehran to freeze such activity. Inspectors for the Vienna-based IAEA remained in Iran Wednesday as they continued gathering information that will go into Thursday's non-public report. While their most recent findings were not available Wednesday afternoon, a senior U.N. official said that Iranian centrifuges were enriching small quantities of uranium gas as late as Tuesday. Enriched uranium can be used in civilian nuclear reactions or, at greater purity, as fissile material for an atomic warhead. Iran insists it has a right to enrich uranium for what it says is a future nuclear power program. There is increasing concern, however, that Tehran is seeking to become a nuclear-armed state….
