That's because the organ donor is his 23-year-old son Joshua, who faces a five-hour operation to remove 70 per cent of his liver. Then it will take another six to 12 hours to implant it into his father, who suffers from hepatitis C. Joshua, a biology student at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, brushes it aside as not a big deal. He did his research and found out that if all went well after the transplant; his liver would regenerate almost fully within six weeks…split liver transplants are increasing because there are less organs to transplant, not only in Canada, but nearly in every country. Being an organ donor is an act of love to all other people. Split liver donation is a act of love from the son to his father, lets hope they both survive and pray for them or burning a candle ;)
