Time-lapse video of deep-sea feeding frenzy… This video clip from NHK’s “Planet Earth” shows the scene at dinner time on the deep ocean floor. The footage, which appears to have been shot by the Japanese submarine Shinkai 6500 in Okinawan waters at a depth of over 1500 meters (5,000 feet), shows sea-floor scavengers fighting for their piece of a fish carcass that has drifted down to the bottom. Crabs, eels and giant isopods (Bathynomus giganteus), which look like 30 centimeter (1 foot) long wood lice, join in the feeding frenzy that lasts several hours. Here it is time-lapsed to about 20 seconds for maximum impact. Itadakimasu.

Arlington man held in theft of up to 300 cars, plus boats and RVs. He was a young man who was good at what he did, prolific and proud of his success. Unfortunately, Taylor Jacob Norton, 22, was in the business of auto theft - stealing as many as 300 cars, plus boats and recreational vehicles, Snohomish County sheriff's Detective Jess Sanders said. Norton sold many of the vehicles, as well as the contents and in some cases car parts, to support a methamphetamine habit, but in other cases he just gave rides to friends in the stolen cars, Sanders said. Drug paraphernalia was found in his home, investigators reported. Norton's record includes convictions for forgery, burglary, attempting to elude police and possession of stolen property. "He's a one-man crime ring," the detective said….
